When Rebecca was preparing for her own wedding in August 1999, she couldn't find a suitable headpiece. "We can do better than this," she said to her mother about everything she tried on. The result: they created the first in what is now the Sylvan Spirit headpiece collection introduced in New York at Vera Wang's Madison Avenue shop in 2001.
The goal of the Tiara Collection was to create headpieces that were artistic, elegant, and versatile, Rebecca says. Each can be worn as a necklace after the wedding with a sterling, adjustable "tiara to necklace" adapter that comes with each tiara. "They become an heirloom piece that can be worn over and over making them each something special with a story that can be passed down," she notes.
While popular headpieces can be ordered by name (typically there names are taken from the woman who initially requested the design), special orders are always welcome. The headpieces fit in any budget depending on how elaborate the style will be: number of flowers and leaves, use of sterling or gold, addition of pearls or Swarovski crystals, and if 14k or platinum pieces are used.
